Privacy Policy

Ascend is a habit-tracking app. This policy explains what information Ascend collects, where it is stored, and how you can export or delete it.

Information we collect

  • Account information — the name and email address you sign up with, used to create and secure your account.
  • Habit data — the habits you create, their schedules and reminders, and your daily completion logs.
  • Journal entries — the wins, lessons, gratitude and notes you write in the Journal.
  • Goal and check-in data — your monthly goals, targets, linked habits, and any progress values you enter.
  • Preferences — reminder times, timezone, appearance settings, and notification choices.
  • Basic usage analytics — for example which screens are opened, used only to improve Ascend. These are never used for advertising and are never sold.

Where your data is stored

Ascend runs on Base44’s managed backend, which stores your data securely on our behalf. Your records are tied to your account and are private to you — other Ascend users cannot see your habits, logs, journal entries or goals.

What we don't do

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties for advertising, marketing or any other commercial purpose.

Device permissions

The mobile app asks for notification permission if you turn reminders on. It is used for one purpose: sending you the habit reminders you asked for, at the times you choose. You can turn reminders off in Settings, or revoke the permission at any time in your device settings — the rest of the app keeps working normally.

Ascend does not request access to your camera, photos, contacts, microphone or location.

Reminder emails

If you enable email reminders, they are sent to the email address on your account. Your timezone and reminder times are stored so reminders arrive at the right local time.

Data retention

Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your habits, completion logs, journal entries and goals are deleted with it. Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone.

Exporting and deleting your data

You are in control of your data from the Settings screen:

  • Export Data — downloads a copy of your habits and completion history as a JSON file.
  • Reset Progress — clears your completion logs and journal entries while keeping your habits.
  • Delete Account — permanently deletes your account and everything stored with it.

Children

Ascend is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the “last updated” date at the top of this page will change with it. Continued use of Ascend after an update means you accept the revised policy.
